Rebuilding the Dream, Pt 31

We have had a busy yet uneventful week.

Monday, we took advantage of the warm before the storm and moved another carload of goodies from one storage unit to the other. I know it sounds like we’re doing busy work, and we sort of are, but we’re trying to shed as many unnecessary payments as we can. One thing I’ve noticed as we dig deeper into our treasure trove is that most of the bulk was in the front part of the unit. A lot of air occupies the back half, which means we should be able to size down with no problems.

After a day of much-needed moisture in the form of rain on the plains and snow in the mountains, we were able to get up to the property and take care of a couple things ahead of a friend and family working day this afternoon. Now, if we can get the weather to cooperate and not rain on our parade, we might actually get more debris bagged up and ready to go.

As Spring works her magic, our field is breaking out in green grass. We’re able to see which trees will survive, and which will be used for other purposes, whether as mulch or as material to help expand our new home. Our region expects more rain in the next few days, so that means more green will begin to appear. It also means we’re going to need the mower up on the mountain sooner rather than later if we intend to keep the noxious weeds from taking over the meadow.

We are still looking for the perfect floorplan at our price point. We haven’t looked at a couple of places yet, so we still have some shopping to do. We know what we want; getting there will be half the fun. In the meantime, we will continue to hurry up and wait.
