At the 11^th hour of the 11^th day of the 11^th month of 1918, World War I ended when the Armistice of Compiègne was signed at Le Francport in Northern France. Originally honoring the veterans of WWI, Armistice Day was later renamed Veteran’s Day to honor all veterans of military service.
