The finish line is in sight, yet we’re still waiting for all the pieces to fall into place. Our home is finished and waiting for a foundation. The loan is ready for disbursement. We’re waiting for the approved building permit before the lender will release the money. And the building plans are in the approval process with the county. With luck, we’ll have everything in place by the end of the week (she says hopefully).

Because of the weather, we haven’t been up to the property to do much more than take an ATV up and get it parked and hooked up to a trickle charger. The heat index has been stifling this week with not just the high temperatures but humidity at levels higher than the average for this region. And forecasters predict our “monsoon” season will start early this year. (Happy, happy, joy, joy.)

We’ve been in a holding pattern as we wait for the county to verify our plans. Once we have our permit in hand, I’ll have more news on the state of our project.
