And So It Begins

The building plans are complete and in the hands of the county building department. Theoretically, this means we’ll have a permit by mid-month-ish. I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, our contractor has a few tasks he can get to without the permit. The digging has commenced.

Spring rains have given way to lush grass, which is challenging to keep up with when one doesn’t live on the property. Unfortunately, the thunder clouds had rolled in by the time we got the rocks picked up and the lawn mower started. I managed to get some of the trimming done before I was done.

We get our well inspected for damage this coming week and see what repairs will cost. I’ll keep you posted on that, too. We’ll be spending a couple of days on the mountain, so, with luck, we’ll get more mowing, trimming, and trees done than we were able this past week.

As our project proceeds, I’ll be posting more pictures of the progress. We’ve already seen changes to the site. We are getting more excited every day.
