No Kings!

Once more, First Reader and I took to the streets to protest against the insanity happening across the United States. Like the last few protests, we stayed local once again. Unlike the Hands Off march in early April, we certainly didn’t have to bundle up for the cold. The weather was quite the opposite, in fact. By the time we left the rally, temperatures had crept into the low 90s F. We broke out sunscreen instead of layers.

I have a lot of feels about what’s going on in the United States right now. Current “leadership” in the U.S. is a vacuum. It’s filled with talking heads that have no clue how to run a business, let alone a country, do their best to gaslight the world that they’re the “greatest”. Some Americans have bought into the propaganda, many of us have not. Their sole purpose is to rob the American people as long as they can get away with it.

I did not volunteer to serve my country just to watch a five-time draft dodger order our young National Guardsmen to square off against the citizens they’ve sworn to protect. I did not serve my country to have my fore-mothers’ names erased from history because strong women intimidate weak men. And I certainly will not stand by in my retirement and put up with immigrants, in a nation of immigrants living on stolen land, being kidnapped from our streets, and shipped off to the gods-know-where, by a madman and his evil henchmen.

We The People are waking up. Our “leaders” need to lead, follow, or get the hell out of our way.
