We woke up to an alarm on a wintry Saturday morning in April to bundle up and stand in the cold to protest the actions of the current United States government. As a US citizen who has worked their whole life, contributed to the promise of a monthly payment for life after retirement, and taken an oath to defend the US Constitution, I’m done with the Robber Barons ripping us off. So, I stood in the cold, making my voice heard and presence seen as one in a sea of many.

First Reader and I toddled down to town to stand with several hundred like-minded souls in our (fairly) conservative town of a more than 75,000. Our little group (we brought friends) was among the crowd that lined that stretch of the US Highway on both sides for at least 1/4 mile. Yes, a few supporters of the current regime (I can’t in good conscience call this an ‘administration’, it isn’t) blew by laying on their horns, giving the one-finger salute. Most protesters ignored the traitors.

When I checked social media later, reports were that protesters across the country numbered in the millions. And more supporters of the American people took to the streets in Europe. Counter-protesters perpetrated the only violence, usually trying to run their vehicles through the crowds. One friend reported a blowing a kiss at a drive-by traitor, only to have him lose his temper and cuss her out. Who are the ‘snowflakes’ again?

If the sketchy reports are to be believed (and one source I trust), the United States achieved a protest turnout of at least two percent of the population, possibly more. I think We The People of the United States have had enough of the Robber Barons stripping our country for parts. They are trying to turn the US into something our forefathers left behind almost 250 years ago. We The People have seen this movie before, it doesn’t end well for the tyrants.
