I spent the better part of the week wondering how badly my system crashed. As it turned out, not as bad as I feared.
Last Monday morning, I dropped my desktop off at the repair shop. They informed me it would be two or three days for them to run the diagnostics and perform a system tune-up. So, I went home and sat down to update my poor, neglected laptop. The one that was my gaming computer before investing in the desktop. Luckily, I could do everything I needed except play my higher end games. Okay, I can survive a week without them.
When I heard from them on Thursday, I got the news the tune-up fixed the corrupted system files and my data remained unscathed. Whew! They made sure all my drivers were up-to-date, and I asked them to install Windows 11 since Windows 10 goes unsupported starting in October.
I even have the story I was working on for my Sunday Story offering from last weekend. I’ll post it up next week since I’m still polishing the prose. The best part is that all my novel edits are safe. I don’t have to reinvent the story.
