Rebuilding the Dream, Pt 166

After 1458 days, First Reader and I finally received our permanent Certificate of Occupancy from the county. This was a few days shy of the four-year anniversary of losing the house to the Cameron Peak Fire. We still have work to do, but the building department now considers the house complete. Any new construction we want will require another building permit.

The next order of business is the hot tub delivery—that happens this coming week. We have the pad mostly prepared. I need to finish adding and smoothing the pea gravel inside the frame. Next week, an electrician will be here to hook up the electric to keep the water at the perfect temperature.

Progress has been slower than we like, but it’s getting done. It’s good to be home.
