As the new year begins, you’ll see some changes in the Tavern Tales. Quotes will continue to fill the void on days I have nothing to say, or life has overwhelmed me to distraction. Sundays, you’ll see more of the stories I have written and polished. I posted some of those stories on this site as I struggled to find material. I’ve since removed some of them, and I’ll give them a good scrubbing as I work on the upcoming changes.
In January, I’ll introduce The Jaunty Mug, a coffee shop/tavern I discovered when writing a contest entry on writing.com. Over time, I realized that the Mug, as its patrons affectionately call it, is one way to link my fantasy stories to the here and now. For me, The Jaunty Mug is a crossover into many other ‘realities’ of the multi-verse.
I plan to use the Mug to introduce the characters and tease the novel I wrote for NaNoWriMo in 2022 while I polish it and look for an agent. Failing representation to a publishing house, I’ll review my options—up to and including self-publishing. I’m not one to rush into things. After all, it took my characters forty years to tell me their stories.
I’ll revisit #TriviaTuesday, #WednesdayWordDay, #ThursdayTherapy, and #FantasyFriday as the topics present themselves. Some weeks may revert to mostly quotes as we wade through the piles of boxes and find room for all the stuff we accumulated over three years. It’s a little early to tell at this stage. Please leave a comment if you’d like to know more about a topic from the past.
Finally, I want to wish everyone Happy Holidays. May the season’s blessings light your path.
