The house has been sitting on the foundation for sixty-three days. Tomorrow, Mr. Sub-Contractor will begin installing the basement windows and siding.

The basement windows.

Basement materials.
This coming week, the workers will close in the downstairs and build the stairs from the upper level to the lower level. We need to get the decking material ordered, then the deck needs built. By Friday, the plumbing, septic, and basement electrical contractors will begin their work. Mid-week brings the crew to finish joining the modular halves, repair all the transport damage, lay the carpets and install the ceiling fans.
Then come the inspections, where the building inspectors come through and nit-pick us to death. With luck, that stage can begin by the end of the month. I won’t hold my breath. We still have a LOT to do before we’re ready for inspections.
It’s coming together, folks.
